Chipotle + Patron Margaritas = My new favorite place

Hello loves!!

When I’m not on a diet I love love love to indulge in a giant bigger than my head burrito from Chipotle. There is just something borderline magical about them… or am I alone in that feeling? ha ha Another reason I love Chipotle is they’re one of the few ‘fast food’ places that also serve alcohol. Who doesn’t love Mexican food and booze together? Well the booze part of the equation just got a makeover.

Fabulously Disheveled Margarita+PatronBottle

The other day I received a press release in my inbox announcing the new and improved Chipotle margaritas that have hit the restaurants. Chipotle’s margaritas of past have consisted of using alcohol and margarita mix… well not anymore, my friends! They’re throwing out the margarita mix and stocking the shelves with Patron tequila! Yes, Patron. Each margarita is hand made for each customer using Patron Silver tequila, triple sec, a blend of lime and lemon juices as well as organic agave nectar. For right now you can enjoy your Patron Margarita in 900 Chipotle restaurants around the U.S.

You can also enjoy the same Chipotle Margarita in the comforts of your own home since they have also released their recipe. Check it out below!

Early Golden Birthday Presents

Hello loves!

My golden birthday (I turn 27 on the 27th) is happening later this month and since it’s a special birthday I’ve kind of already started celebrating. Last weekend I spent in Nashville visiting and staying with my little sister for a “Sisters + Golden Birthday Weekend.” It was a blast! We went to see Phil, Si and Miss Kay from Duck Dynasty (loveeee that show!) speak, went thrifting, went downtown, etc. So that kind of kicked off a month long celebration, ha ha ha.

The other day I went over to one of my bestest friends Heather’s house and she just couldn’t wait any longer to give me my birthday presents… and I’m not one to turn down a present ha ha. She handmade the presents (well, except the wine and perfume) and they blew my mind with their awesomeness! She made me accessories made completely out of duct tape! Two clutches, the black and pink clutch zips and the gold folds over and secures with velcro; a golden rose headband, golden rose ring, golden bow ring and leopard print ring. I’m absolutely in love with everything and everything is so well made!! I told Heather she could sell this stuff it’s so good! Take a look at the photos below of everything…

What do you guys think of the duct tape accessories?

If I were Kim Kardashian’s Stylist

Hello loves!!

I don’t know about all of you, but I have been pretty disappointed with how Kim Kardashian has been choosing to dress her baby bump. It’s kind of been a baby bump disaster from the very first baby bump glimpse… whomp whomp.

Seriously, though, it really does make me sad when women don’t know how to dress for their body shape in general. Being pregnant is a magical thing and I really think women need to embrace their growing bump. You definitely don’t have to sacrifice style or even sexiness just because you’re pregnant. Let the world know you’re one hot mama and you’re not afraid to show it!!

If I were Kim Kardashian’s stylist I would love to dress her in these amazing and sexy maternity dresses. Oh, and P.S., these dresses are all amazing AND affordable!!

ASOS maternity midi dress in mirror floral

Sunday = Lazy

Hello loves!

Sunday = Lazy… well, not all the time. Sundays really just means me time. I’ve always loved to keep my Sundays quiet or completely up to me. I don’t like making plans and I really don’t like someone else making plans for me on Sundays. I think it should be mandatory for everyone to have one day a week that is completely devoted to what they want to do.

Sometimes I like to go to new places or spend time with friends and sometimes I like to stay in my lounge clothes all day and do just that, lounge around. Today just happens to be a lazy Sunday. I did a little work this morning then I snuggled on the couch with my chihuahua, Mr Big, while we took an hour long nap. Well, I slept for an hour, he’d sleep all day if you’d let him. ha ha. The rest of the day I plan to do a lot of relaxing, wear a mud mask and possibly give myself a pedicure. Later tonight I plan to get things in order to start the week off right tomorrow and watch part 3 of the Real Housewives of Atlanta Reunion. I mean seriously…. what is a Sunday without watching the Real Housewives?? ;)

Sundays = Lazy snuggles with Mr Big

What are your Sunday plans?

Trend to Try: Stripes

Hello loves!

One of the biggest fashion trends this spring and summer is stripes. Multiple designers showcased stripes in their spring/summer 2013 collections across runways all over the world. With so many different designers embracing stripes it doesn’t take an expert fashionista to know we’re going to be seeing this trend in a big way this season.

It doesn’t matter if the stripes you sport are horizontal, vertical, diagonal, thin or thick… if it’s a series of lines, then it is on trend! There are multiple ways to wear this trend and how you incorporate this trend is up to you, but I thought I would give you a few tips on the hottest ways to pull off stripes.

The biggest tip when it comes to wearing stripes is to remember, horizontal strips draws the eye from side to side and vertical stripes draws the eye from top to bottom… if you’re wanting a more slimming look, always go with vertical lines. If you’re daring enough to jump right into this trend, a great way to do that is with a dress. If you want to get a taste of the trend, but not ready to fully commit to a full striped look, try test driving the trend with a pair of fun heels or handbag. Here are a few of my favorite ways to wear this trend:

What is your favorite way to rock the stripes trend this season?

Organic Color in Cincinnati at ALBA Beauty Studio

Hello loves!

As you all know I absolutely adore a blowout, and the only place I’ll go to get the perfect blowout Cincy Style Bar in Hyde Park. I’ve fallen in love with this place! It’s trendy, super friendly and best of all they only use organic non-toxic products! They aren’t kidding around when it comes to profession organic products, when I say it’s all they use, it’s seriously all they use. And I must admit, they have turned me over to the ‘clean’ side!

ALBA is owned and operated by sisters, Andrea and Ashley. Andrea did production work for over ten years and during this time she realized the amount of chemicals and toxins she was putting on her clients and herself and knows what a scary health risk all of this is. It was then that she decided she was only going to use professional organic toxic-free products for both herself and her clients. After lots of research and product testing she found what she thought was the best products out there and began using them. Over time she has become known as an organic skincare cosmetic expert. With this the idea to open ALBA Beauty Studio and Cincy Style Bar was born and in 2012 the sisters opened both businesses simultaneously.

After spending several trips there to get blowouts I learned the story of ALBA and just had to try it. Naturally, my hair is a really dark brown, however, I’ve been dying it midnight brown/soft black for almost nine years. I think I was more than ready to make a change and it was either go with a whole new hair color or get a drastic super short hair cut. I just couldn’t bring myself to commit to a short hairstyle, even though I really want to try one. It just takes my hair too long to grow long again and I figured I would probably hate myself especially during that ugly ‘in between’ stage. So a new color it was!

I found this gorgeous photo of medium to dark brown hair with golden highlights that I just fell in love with. This was the change that I wanted and I talked to Andrea and Ashley to see if this look was possible to do with my hair since it was so dark and they said yes. And I scheduled my appointment with the absolutely amazing Sarah for the very next day.

Since my hair was so dark it took a total of 4 hours from start to finish, but it was totally worth it! Instead of using bleach to lighten my hair, Sarah used a soap cap which is the most gentle way to lighten hair. I think that part definitely took up the most time. After she lightened my whole head of hair she mixed two custom colors for my hair… yes, I can genuinely say that no one has the exact same hair color as me and I’m not going to lie, I love the idea of that! ha ha She foiled my whole head to create the perfect look by adding a beautiful brown with a hint of red all over with gorgeous golden highlights flowing through my hair.

I am absolutely in love with my new hair color!! It definitely took some getting used to after having such dark hair for so many years, but I couldn’t be happier with this change! I definitely recommend that everyone in a 50 mile radius of Hyde Park needs to get their hair done at ALBA Beauty Studio! Check out my photos below!

As I’m writing this I realize I seriously need to take some more (and definitely) better quality photos of my hair! ha ha ha

Amy
